Patient Management

2 minutos de lectura

The Optonet Vision Unit streamlines the storage of data from clinical procedures conducted during the Eye Examination, as well as the results and progress of exercises in Orthoptic Training. To begin, a record must be created for each patient.

In the main menu, the “Patients” link provides options to register a new patient, search for an already registered patient, and access the “Patient Record” when clicked.

By selecting the “New Patient” link, you can open a new record to input the patient’s personal data. After clicking the green “Save” button, the information will be securely stored in the program’s database and on the Optonet server, utilizing End-to-End encryption technology.

Search for Already Registered Patient #

To select a previously registered patient, first click on “Search Patient” in the main menu.

Search Patient

You can then view the list of registered patients. Select the desired patient, and click on the “Select” link. A window will open to enter the name of the Examiner, which can be selected from the dropdown menu if it has been previously added.

Select Patient

Clicking on “Select” again returns you to the home screen.

You can then choose the vision charts or orthoptic exercises of interest, with the assurance that the results will be directly saved in the patient’s record.

From the “Patient Search” screen, you have the option to remove patients from the database. Doing so will erase all information associated with that patient. To remove a patient, highlight their name and click on the “Delete” link. You can also open a patient’s record for viewing or editing by highlighting their name and clicking on the “Edit” button.

Additionally, this screen allows you to deselect a patient (“Deselect”), create a “New Patient”, and “Export” patient data to a CSV file.

The name of the selected patient, along with that of the professional, is displayed in the upper left corner of the main menu. The patient’s name acts as a link, granting direct access to their Record where you can view all saved data.

The patient’s personal data is displayed on the left side of the first screen. To the right, there is a dedicated section for recording the results of various procedures: Symptoms Questionnaire, Motor Field, Campimetry, and Colour Vision (Ishihara and Farnsworth D15 tests).

At the top of the screen, several tabs grant access to different sections of the Patient Record: Case History, Refraction, Binocular Vision, Ocular Health, Prescription, and Orthoptic Training. These tabs contain the results of the remaining Eye Examination procedures and orthoptic exercises.

A “Visit” dropdown menu at the top of the screen allows for easy access to data from different patient visits, organized by date and divided into two main categories: “Consultations” and “Home Tests.” The “Consultations” category encompasses both face-to-face and video consultations conducted by the eye care professional. In contrast, “Home Tests” documents the occasions when the patient engaged in Orthoptic Training or conducted tests at home.
